D.A.T Roll & Backdown Roll

For the last sixteen years I have traveled between Pensacola and 30A eating at many establishments along the way. Some kid friendly, others fine dining and dives, I certainly have a list of personal gems. Though I write food and travel stories and have a website devoted to food, I am always open to suggestions and to trying new cuisines. Recently, a friend asked me to lunch for sushi, and due to our home-base locations we decided to meet in Destin at Harbor Docks. I was looking forward to it, as I had not had sushi there in quite some time, but rather at Dharma Blue their sister restaurant in Pensacola, Basmati’s and Crush on 30A, and Sushimoto in Miramar Beach.

On arrival I found ample parking, and a valet to help if needed. I was greeted right away upon entering the restaurant, and shown to where my friend was seated. With a harbor view and seafood caught fresh on the boats below, I had forgotten how dreamy this restaurant could be. Our server was gracious and efficient, and the sushi was delicate and flavorful. I enjoyed the Backdown Roll and D.A.T. Roll, both excellent choices.

Harbor Docks head sushi chef is Yoshi Eddings, well known in the area for having catered to A-list Hollywood celebrities for years. She trains the staff at Harbor Docks and sister locations, so patrons are certain to enjoy the perfect roll. Harbor Docks also has their own seafood market on site, so you know the sushi is the fresh. Open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, I highly recommend Harbor Docks.
